I remember loving the Game “Snails” when I bought it for my Windows Mobile PDA many years ago. Snails is similar in game play to the classic PC game series “Worms.” When I switched to the Palm-based Treo smart-phone 3 years ago I missed the game. I tried several demo’s and was unable to get them to run. Each time, my Treo would lockup. Because of this, I never did buy the Palm version of the game. Back in February of 2007, PDAmill (the producer of Snails) decided to stop developing for the Palm platform. I figured that would be the end. Recently however, they have generously released many (all?) of there Palm games as freeware, including Snails.

You can download Snails and the other software titles from the PDAmill’s site. All the downloads worked on my Treo 650p with the exception of Snails. I had to do a little tweaking to the files (including renaming one) to get Snails to start on my Treo. If you want to save yourself the troubleshooting, you can download my “fixed” version here.
